well, even on a song like rapper's delight, each mc has there own unique flo, and delivery, and and around those times there wasn't anybody nearly lyrically advanced until later. what people are worried about is the content money, sex, drugs, violence, and nowadays just plain old i got swagggg. in this song most of the message was about peace fun and unity, which is what hip hop is. turning negative energy into postitive energy. Rappers Delight was the actually the first commercial hip hop song. or as "HIP HOP HEADS" say it, rap song. In which rap kind of replaced the word MC. hip hop had been out long before that but it wasn't publicized and the mainstream did'nt give it the eye. the only thing that caught there eye was mcing. or what they call rapping. look up grandmaster, in the song rappers delight Big Bank hank's Lyrics was actually his lyrics.

I agree, but I feel that the quality of hit making music isn't good. Instead of trying to advance your hit, you want it to sound like Drake's or Lil Waynes. To me, artists now are doing too much copying.
